Tier 7 · Elite Cert · Module 7.2
What the Elite Cert means and what it does not
An honest description of the TradingProgress Elite Cert — what earning it demonstrates, what it is not (an accredited qualification, licence, or guarantee), and how to describe it accurately.
Lesson 2 of 2 · 4 min read
The Elite Cert is the final milestone of the TradingProgress Trading School. It represents a lot of work: seven tiers of lessons, passed exams, a documented and tested system, and an honest audit of your own live trading. It's worth being proud of. It's also worth being precise about — because describing it accurately is part of the professional integrity the whole course is built on.
What you'll learn
- What earning the Elite Cert demonstrates
- What the Elite Cert is not
- How it relates to regulated professional qualifications
- How to describe it accurately — on a CV, profile, or conversation
- How badges work on TradingProgress
1. What the Elite Cert demonstrates
Earning the Elite Cert shows that you have:
- Completed the Trading School curriculum across all seven tiers
- Passed the tier exams and the cumulative Elite Cert theory exam at 80% or above
- Confirmed completing the practical requirements, including a written system, testing, and a self-audit of your live trade log
- Developed a documented, process-driven approach to trading and risk management
2. What the Elite Cert is not
| It is not… | Why this matters |
|---|---|
| An accredited qualification | It isn't awarded by an accreditation body or regulator |
| A professional licence | It doesn't authorise you to give financial advice, manage other people's money, or work in regulated roles |
| A guarantee of profitability | Past learning and results don't guarantee future performance |
| An independent verification of your trading results | Practical requirements are confirmed by you; results are verified only by your own track-record evidence (see Building a verifiable track record) |
| A recommendation | It doesn't endorse any strategy, product, or trader |
These limits are also stated in our Terms & Conditions.
3. Regulated qualifications
People who give financial advice, manage money for others, or work in regulated financial roles typically need regulated qualifications or licences issued or recognised by the authorities in their country — for example, securities licensing examinations, or professional designations from recognised industry bodies. Requirements vary by country and role.
If you're considering a professional career in finance, the Elite Cert can be a strong foundation of practical trading knowledge — but look up the specific regulated requirements for your country and role.
4. Describing it accurately
Accurate wording:
- "Completed the TradingProgress Trading School Elite Cert — a seven-tier practical trading curriculum covering market structure, risk management, strategy design and testing, and trading psychology."
- "Elite Cert (TradingProgress Trading School), including a capstone trading system and a self-audit of my live trading record."
Wording to avoid:
- "Certified trader" or "licensed trader"
- "Accredited" or "officially certified"
- Anything implying a guarantee of results or authorisation to manage money
When sharing trading results, pair them with verifiable evidence rather than relying on the badge (see Building a verifiable track record).
5. How badges work on TradingProgress
- Badges are awarded to your account when you pass an exam on the site and confirm any practical requirements.
- Exams are graded on our servers, so a badge always reflects a server-graded pass.
- Practical requirements are self-attested — you confirm them. We may revoke badges obtained through false confirmations (see our Terms).
- Badges appear on your progress path in the Trading School.
Common mistakes
- Overstating the Elite Cert as a licence or accreditation.
- Using the badge instead of evidence when discussing results.
- Confirming practical requirements that weren't genuinely completed.
- Assuming it qualifies you for regulated work.
Key terms
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Elite Cert | The final TradingProgress Trading School milestone |
| Accredited qualification | A qualification recognised by an official accreditation body |
| Professional licence | Regulatory authorisation to perform certain financial activities |
| Self-attestation | Confirming a requirement yourself, rather than being independently verified |
| Server-graded | Scored automatically on the site's servers, not in your browser |
Practice
- Write a one-sentence description of your Elite Cert using the accurate wording above.
- If you're interested in a finance career, research the regulated qualifications required for that role in your country.
- Pair your Elite Cert with your one-page verified track-record summary.
Quick recap
- The Elite Cert shows you've completed the curriculum, passed the exams, and done the practical work.
- It is not an accredited qualification, a licence, a guarantee, or independent verification of results.
- Regulated roles require regulated qualifications.
- Describe it accurately, and pair results with verifiable evidence.
- Badges reflect server-graded exams plus honest self-attestation.
